Carnivals

For years my family marveled at the speed and silliness of the rides
I cringed in disgust as they only made me nauseous
I much preferred tattoos and funnel cakes
Lemonade and milk
A helpful concoction made so delicious
the clowns were an extra terror
The crowds a pain....
I pretended to be gracious
hiding my hatred all the way...
Oh thejoys of the carnival days
