catch the wind

The movie theatre is quiet
Almost empty it is devoidĀ
of technology and pomp.
Still serving the delicate
Beauty of the timeless classics.
Bogart and bacall kiss as always.
We used to watch this one together.
I have seen it so often the endings
are still always the same.
I know the dialog by heart.
We would spend a lazy
rainy day afternoon
Here then go homeĀ
to make tea and love.
You have gone from me now
of course.
Such beauty is for the gods
Not for an ordinary man like me.
But sometimes in the muted lights
Of the silver screen I forget
I feel your hand slip into mine.
And as you squeeze itĀ
For a fleeting moment
You are mine again and
All is well with the world.
Even though I know
That I would be so brokenĀ
My love.
I would change nothing.Ā
For I tried to catch the wind
And for a brief moment
I held it in my hands.
