CAUGHT IN THE RAIN

The rain splashes on that pavement floor
Will do in the future as it has done before
People will get wet in need of a dry spot
Wishing no doubt the weather was hot

I am one of the many out in this lashing rain
Hoping and cursing for better days again
Somebody told me the rain is God's tears
Happened for centuries throughout the years

I don't have an umbrella and am wet through
Soaked to the skin and so my dear are you
We are finally home let's have a cup of tea
Rain certainly doesn't agree with you and me
