Poem -
For The Cause
Hold the keep!
Until the arrival of the cavalry.
We await the trumpeting sounds,
Of our enemies retreat.
But they storm the castle walls,
Relentless,
For the blood thirsty suppression,
They won't stop till every last one of us,
Falls.
We dreamed of an end,
To an unjust king's oppression.
And when all hope was lost,
We held fast,
Stayed strong.
Never to surrender,
It was all for the cause.
Survivors will remember,
That unforgettable day,
The defeat of evil tyranny,
Bringing fourth the right,
And good of change.
Sworn to protect the feeble,
We fought to give the lands,
Back to the people.

Thanks Curtis it means so much to hear encouragement on my story telling. I wasn't sure how it would end up after the first four lines but when your talking about battles that have gone on for centuries and still till his day the idea took possession of the pen and recreated a scene in the words of my own imagination. Thank you Cherie in those god fearing times everything done whether good or unjust was in the name of our lord. I think some of the best movies come from those times. Ill have to do some more of these writes lol.
