Poem -

Caution

the world speeds by

outside the train;

and i sigh.

the gates will go down

the chime with sound

and i'll get nervous.

we're approaching near

will we make it

the gates are down

the train whistle

radiating

it may be too late;

the train speeds past

and i realize

i am on the train.

the jolting movement

awakens me

and i feel anew.

i look at the safety of the people

slowly fidgeting;

coming to;

i am the train in this world

i will not stop at the cross

i will not be ended in a clash

of light and sound and speed;

i will begin-

on my way towards a new beginning,

surging forward

my old destiny

lying on the tracks.

in lieu of a tunnel-

a prairie.
