Like chalk and cheese we canβt compare
the light and dark of lust and love.
With lust we crave, with love we share
with one we take ,the other care.
Lust is the moment ,not the heart
to feel a longing uncontrolled.
Desire flowing through your veins
uncomplicated, pulsing, cold.
Attracted by a sensual need,
attachment free with sex the aim.
Lusts an addiction one must feed
when playing loves eternal game
With love the difference is quite clear
Weβre reaching for anotherβs soul.
We ache to have that person near
to Β love entirely, is the goal.
With lust we keep emotions out
Β but are they really so diverse?
Can love be found all by itself
Or do we need to have lust first?
Maybe itβs best to have loved and lust
than never to have felt the pain
that losing love can bring about,
yetΒ lust can help you to regainβ¦
Perhaps they both walk hand in hand
attraction first, a craving cold.
Uncomplicated urgency
but after lust, love then unfolds.

Yes that's my feeling...there has to be an initial attraction generated by lust..but hopefully followed by a lasting love. Well written Lodi andΒ a lovely read.
