Do not come at us
cup in hand
seeking us to chip in
for a noble cause
we want no part of

You preach incessantly
about mutual sacrifice
and the greater good
of this troubled humanity
that comes with an attached
price tag
we don't wanna pay

Continuous denials
of the impending calamity
we will never acknowledge
are far more cost effective
than all this preventative nonsense
that is just too damn expensive
for our short sightedness
