CHILD

CHILD

Ragged childΒ
That looks at me
Tired eyes
So young, not wise
Silent child
Who bid you go
Too hot the sun
Too cold the snow
Hungry child
Who cares thy needs
Cast out amongstΒ
The dirt and weeds
Ruined life
In ruined town
In ruined country
All blown down
No arms to hold
Or tend your needs
No one to care
Your cries and plees
Gutter child
Lost, lonely, wild
On garbage tips
You sleep and hide
AndΒ
In all the world
In all the homes

Your story hidden
Ignored
Untold
And shame on we
That will not stop
The suffering
The hate
The rot
So bleed and weep
The world cares not
For wars and conflict
It will not stop
Yes
Shame on we.
