Poem -

Child

Loving you is becoming a bad habit I'm not sure I can quit
I obeyed the half starved heart I owned
I consumed the thought of loving you
And I watched the flower take bloom
Forgetting flowers die once you pick them
I should've left you in the garden
But I'm a slave to my desire
It was much more than that though
Something in me recognised your body your bones
Recognised your heart
I was a fool to love you
But I'd do it again
Touched the fire not once but twice
I didn't think it was hot enough
Lessons don't get learned unless you get burned
