Childhood girl

I stand before you as an adult 
You see me simply as I am in front of you
But that isn't my full view 
She sits here with me
Reminding me of how it use to be 
Sometimes she looks tougher and wiser 
She reassures me with "I'm always beside ya"
If I'm sad she holds me 
She wipes away the tears 
And reminds me "you got here and you can get there"
" you have the strength to make it anywhere"
She's so care free 
She's always happy 
She shows me things I forget about me! 
She has such curly white hair 
Pale skin
She gives me the determination to win
She's so young but ever so wise 
She is me as a child 
She has goals she will make me reach 
When I'm down I hear her preach 
She will push me back up because this is her future too
"Don't  let the past get the better of you 
I palled through and so will you "
The dreams we had and the plans we made they have not changed 
I still have that inner child with me 
I still see the little girl I use to be 
Yes I blocked out so much from when I was young 
But me and her we are still one 
She there to remind me of a view 
I sometimes lose 
The younger me has a job to remind me 
She holds up the adult you see 
Because she's the strength inside of me
