Choosing between Safety And the Possibility of Happiness... part I
If the sun shines again
and goes down again
and our heart still beats in rhythm
so tell!
Come steal away into the night
and search for love or something like it;
with an open mind;
imagine;
sitting in the darkness by the sea
unleashed from the chains
that binds us to the alter of convention
free to the possibility, of happiness
crawling and learning to live again
rediscovering ourselves
one with the cool breezes;
lost in the ways of pleasure
our lovemaking
startling the birds from the safety
of their nests, to gaze in awe and wonder
Some may choose to wait for fate
or the hand of God to intercede;
bless them and long may they prosper
while free will bleeds upon the thoughts
of those who dare to dream in movement
and from the hands of those who choose
uncharted places to make their covenant
And thereby escape the walls
like the inhabitants of ancient Jerusalem
who heard the call to freedom
Before the dawn sparked red
and the armies that came raging with blood lust
and so, the possibility of happiness
lingers, like a sculpture to be crafted
a city left unfinished
come steal away into the night
searching for love or something like it
Come with your thirsty soul
feed on the scent of Honeysuckle
lips like butterflies long to caress
your cool alabaster skin
so tell

wow Cherie, this is certainly an epic comment from you, thank you....the poem is longer than I usually write but I love the platform of this site and enjoy writing pretty much anything that moves me at this point....to be honest I really have to be inspired by something or someone to even put pen to paper these days, and in many ways I love that, after all why else would you even write poetry unless you are inspired by someone? Â Ode to the pure pleasure of creating....thanks again for your always thought provoking comments sis...cheers
drunkenwolf, I'm tearing up bro. Â thanks...'interesting' is the highest compliment for me
