Christmas Together Alone

Dreaming of a white Christmas,
with nuts roasting on a fire.
Remembering back to times gone by,
 to relive a strong desire.
What it was and what it is,
if we could just go back now.
The things we found for what we lost,
 it's not the same somehow.
 Friends together for Christmas,
for without a place must roam.
 We're celebrating the holiday season,
 spending Christmas, together, alone.
Oh holy night, and jingle bells
 and Santa's jolly smile.
We laugh and sing a little cry,
we are happy for a while.
 Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas,
 with lights decorating our home.
 We're celebrating the holiday season,
 spending Christmas,...together,...alone!

Author notes
I was going through a divorce
and was many miles away from my kids at christmas.
I had befriended two others that had stories like mine.
We all spent Christmas and Christmas eve together.
Though we were never apart, it still felt as if I was alone,
because I couldn't be with those I loved.
Thats what inspired, "Christmas Together Alone"
