Climate Change: Awareness Poem

Climate change is threatening our planet in horrendous ways
Less and less trees, everywhere I see one’s ablaze
Imagine a world without glaciers, forests or freshwater
Millions of families displaced, hundreds of cities underwater
An unnecessary catastrophe will soon be taking place
Together we must stop this or have ourselves braced
Earth soon to rise by two degrees so we need to make haste

Calamitous heat waves, intense storms and prolonged droughts are on the rise
However for releasing greenhouse gases, we’re paying quite a massive price
Although cutting down trees is a requirement, why don’t we plant some more instead
Now interfering with the carbon cycle is bound to leave more than 700 species dead
Giving information and spreading awareness about climate change is not enough
Everyone switch to renewable resources else be prepared for a future quite tough
