‘Cloud nine’?

Staring from the cruel blank canvas amidst her tarnished mixed-up mind
Alas she has the dreaded dementia
A chronic brain disease so unkind
Nowadays she doesn’t speak
Her words were confusion a year ago
She was like a ‘Broken record’
Over & over again tho she did not know
It’s all very well forgetting things
One is very familiar with that
But when you don’t realise you have lost things & you look like a scared cat
Then you have a serious problem
They will send you away for tests
You will put up a strong fight
“I’m okay”& “Leave me alone” requests
Yet you really aren’t okay, you have recently lost the plot
There is a ‘Vacant look’ in your expression
Of which you don’t care a jot
So your children come to visit you
They miss the way you used to be
Their dearest, doting Mother
Is ‘Lost in her bubble’ sadly
The only ‘Grace & favour” there is
You haven’t got a caring, clue
So no matter what your folks are feeling
It doesn’t bother you
Bamboozlement has begoned you
You are ‘At the end of the line’
So today you sit like everyday
Looking out the window in oblivious ‘Cloud nine’
