CLOUGHIE

CLOUGHIE

I have been set a challenge that's hard and tough
To write a poem about the legendary Brian Clough
In 1969 to Derby he came
The style of football would put others to shame

The Derby teams of the seventies were fantastic and great
Cloughie was the boss and Taylor was his mate
In 1972 Cloughie and Derby won the biggest prize
Division 1 champions made everyone happy guys

So onto Forest for Clough and a change of career
We will gloss over Leeds and that difficult year
Two European cups in three years and Cloughie was king
Overlooked as manager of England is the one sad thing
