Coffee, Tears And Me
Most people wake up with this on their minds, the morning coffee soon to brew;
But when I awake I have tears on my cheeks, the ones I have cried for you!
The coffee perks and fills their nose, with sweet aromas of its beans;
My olfactory bulbs have long since demised; sweet smells I have not the means!
They savor every sip that they take, caffeine, cream with sugar too;
For me the sweetness left my life, for it was always the honey that was you!
They pour another cup to drink, then possibly take some more;
But we were only given one go round, before the cup emptied evermore!
A lot of them then go to work, and have several more that day;
While nothing gives me a caffeine high, since the night that you went away!
After dinner possibly an espresso drink, to complete their trilogy;
But sadly, I have no choice I can make; I taste only the teardrops from me!
