Cold Fusion

Pearl Destiny Road

Cold Fusion

Once again I learn to walk and traverse
The streets that were once gold to me
Ominous, cruel fate is worse
Darkened the days, pearl destiny

Roads to heaven closed once more
The pearly gates to free society are polyethylene
Splashed with mud and traces of blood
Yellow signs of warnings to refrain and retreat
Searching for the golden street
Copious walkways are obsolete
Darkened are the days

I put on mask, I enter store
I am not me anymore
I'm indistinct, I am them
No different, not special, but safe
Am I truly safe?
Laws and corner eyes would tell
I look with my tired eyes, just see
Determine that I'm missing me

Once again I learn to walk freely
Past the dangers and the yellow signs
I look for the gold
Where I tread I find a threshold
Histories I made are cold
I turn to hope, ignition ablaze
Light in my eyes you may see
Darkened days will be gone
I'll keep on pearl destiny

Thank you Tony! It's good to be back here. You could say I've been on hiatus, but I've also been working on songs and stories. I just had a demo of my song recorded in Nashville and now I need to find a music publisher to get it cut by a record label. I'm not pursuing a singing career. I just want to get my songs recorded and played on the radio. That's been one of my lifelong dreams. And of course, write and publish a book of poetry.
Thanks again, brother poet! Peace!
