Copper

watching the wind brush through the leaves
catching a glimpse of glitter in your eyes
the stars sparkle in that night sky
when your hands meet mine
things instantly have a spark
an undeniable grasp that there is more
viewing the world beside you
things don't seem so gloomy
the darkness and fire is swept away
by the light from within
determination and strength
have taught me the values
of what is to be valued
