Courage

Courage

Courage is a miserable youth
wrapped in meek clothes;
hair wet and wretched,
shivering and barefoot.
The embodiment of some abstract storm;
mind plagued by flashes of lighting,
worst-cases and fears;
a heartbeat of thunder,
dense and unrelenting.
Raindrops of sweat,
and salt tears steadily formed.
Courage is the wretch on the edge of a void,
who knowingly steps into the unknown.
