Let Sleeping Dogs Lie.

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie.

I hope I never hear, “that was then and this is now”,
ever again.
I hope I lose all my hair, and my skin dries and crusts over,
like dirt with no water.
I hope I’m mauled by a lion, with no sense of timing.
Hope she tears at my face till it’s nothing but bone,
and in the sun, shone between broken teeth,
the last remnants of anything of use to anyone.
I hope I never see another false smile.
The hours click away on life’s fucking sundial.
What could you see or feel that I haven’t expressed clearly?
Oh, how I could beg but it means nothing, sincerely.
I don’t even blame you, it’s a tough world to survive,
and I find that death feels better than being revived.
So let me fucking sleep.
