Cracked Diamond

She is a diamond
When the sunlight hits her flaws
She shines all the brighter

Inside her soul is a golden road
Lined with bushels of roses darker than ink
It leads to an oasis more beautiful than any discovered
Glittering, blue water and lush greenery tended by a divine hand

Entering this oasis changes your path
The gilded stones and thorned stems fade
Replaced with an endless desert
The rolling dunes bake in the midday sun 

This place has a mind of its own
When one wanders away
The path will not be made clear again
And they shall be lost amongst the searing heat
With only their demons to keep them company

Her flaws glitter in the sun 
Sparkling cracks in that pristine surface
Beautifully broken
