Creature Feature

In the year of 1933, 
Starring in a Hollywood feature.
A movie with a great difference, 
Its star is an awesome creature.

Kong! The Mighty King Kong! 
The greatest King of them all.
A sad story of a giant ape, 
Standing over fifty feet tall.

A movie never seen before, 
The first of its kind released.
With an oh so tragic ending, 
It was beauty killed the beast.

After him dawned yet another, 
The Creature From The Black Lagoon.
In the end we think he's dead, 
His sequel proving we spoke too soon.

And then there were giant ants, 
A shocked little girl calls Them! 
A final storm-drain army battle, 
Who burn their nest of mayhem.

Then surfaced a Great White shark,
That relentless killing eating machine.
Jaws, the first summer blockbuster,
Every swimmer his gourmet cuisine.

Lets not forget that giant lizard, 
Who surely needs no introduction.
A Japanese behemoth called Godzilla.
Rivalling Kong for utter destruction.

What about the thing in the jungle,
The one audience's can't really see.
But in the end the Predator revealed,
Battling one man who'll never  flee.

In space no-one can hear you scream,
As an Alien chest-bursts to be born.
Picking off a crew one by one,
And underestimates a woman's scorn.  

But, you can't keep a giant ape down,
Kong returns time and time again.
Forever reimagined and then reborn
A creature King with an eternal reign.
