Crepuscular Age

Crepuscular Age

Crepuscular age:
worlds are disintegrating
before our glazed eyes.
Lovers misinterpret signs
and symbols that once
Were blessed with vision and faith.
Neurotic people
attempt conversation not
even knowing what
their lives are all about. Ghosts
dwell in shadow lands.
Some are standing
Between the ash and the rose.
Purgatorial
rituals, too late for them.
Their hearts have hardened.
No longer can they trace curves
of light or absorb
the soft structures of a dream.
Their prayers cannot
break through the threshold of Time.
