Poem -

Crooked

Something so simple: and yet – so complicated; and such
Dislike; and so unjust; and feel a pain—a crooked smile; and
Ever seen—a crooked joy. Something irks: a silent strength;
And something claims—a need to help; and help is free—

A crooked help; and there’s a need—a crooked need. And at
The first, a feeling soft; and near the end—a crooked cough; and
Such the wit—an irksome game; and towards the end—a
Gesture crane. ā€œWe need to see—an absent rageā€; ā€œWe need to

See—the spirit flameā€; and crooked rites—a private joy; and
Stalwart souls—a favorite toy; and feel the ā€˜tude—growing
Strong: a need to test—and bang the gong; and victim one—
And victim two—and victim three—and this is you; and this
Is life—a crooked soul: a world of pain—painted gold; and try
To flee—a crooked lot—a folder brown—a crooked dot.Ā Ā Ā
