Crumpled Ball of Discarded Nothing

Crumpled Ball of Discarded Nothing

I’ve always been quiet to my ears

About the things that truly matter

Things that leave scars on my heart

Like that skull tattooed on your arm

Always eagerly available

But never noticed unless it was called

Upon other useless rubbish

Its purpose was soon to be exhaust

Clutching your number on this very napkin

I starve myself away at the urge to text you

Upon my shivering frame

Heat gleams unthaw its message

Sweat dripping onto the words

As I type

Hello.
