CRYSTAL BEAUTY

CRYSTAL BEAUTY

WHAT A BEAUTY TO BEHOLD
THE SUN SHINING IN ITS STRENGTH
AS THE RAIN GLITTERS IN A DOWNPOUR

THE SKIES ARE BLUE
WITH NO SIGN OF CLOUDS
BUT THE DANCING OF RAINDROPS
ON THE TIN ROOF BELLOWS ALOUD

WHAT A COMFORT AND PEACE IT BRINGS
A HEAVENLY BLESSING
THAT MAKES THE HEART SING

ONLY IN MY NATIVE LAND OF GUYANA
HAVE I SEEN THIS SIGHT
AND HOW WELCOMING IS THE RAIN
ON A PITCH DARK NIGHT

IT AWAKES YOU OUT OF SLEEP
ONLY TO CRADLE YOU ONCE AGAIN
SO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD,
LET IT RAIN.

WILFORD BARKER.
