“A Cup of Coffee?”

When I see you I go weak and the world is purple. I wish to
Speak, but words languish; thus, I feel awkward. Your smile:
So filled with joy. I imagine such pain, and plead forgiveness.
You conquer walls. I’m pulled in your direction; but love is a
Petal—plucked by life; and thus, I withdraw. I can’t imagine;
And I dare to speak. Indeed, I feel scorned: such a feeling.
Would you feel me: not to mention love? That’s a grand thought;
And yes, I seem a bit consumed; and death nurtures trepidation;
And thus, I leap: “Are you free Saturday”; and you fated
Love. We fell and laughed and ran and smiled and ate and drank
And kissed and hugged: it was wonderful! You tipped a toe
And pulled it back: I picked a leaf and put it back. Day became
Night and we drifted silence—afraid to feel; and something
Spoke: “A cup of coffee?”: indeed.
