A Cuppa

We've used the coffee topic to grinds
And tea drinkers think it's a liquid crime
While java junkies have drunk their fill
Some writers say coffee tastes like swill
Here's some prose on restorative tea
For those who've waited so patiently
To move beyond bitter coffee beans
And praise a drink that comes from leaves
You can steep it short or steep it long
However you choose it won't come out wrong
Strong and steamy and semi~sweet
With cream and sugar it's a British treat
It's a proven tonic for the flu
But for an even more potent brew
Add whiskey from the Emerald Isle
Served with a wink and a Celtic smile
So here's to Susan's liquid upper
Good at morning, noon and supper
Perhaps someday I'll make it there
And we'll drink a cuppa and stories share!
