Poem -

The Cycle

We said it was unbreakable, uncompromising love
  and then we discovered
   scars, bruises and past lives

Shame

  we tore each other apart
looking for things that we both needed
      but could never find

Tragic

we said we only wanted to give to each other
and yet we only stole from ourselves
       and blamed each other
for the emptiness in our lives

and I still miss you
