CYNICAL NAILS OF CHRIST

CYNICAL NAILS OF CHRIST

CYNICAL NAILS OF CHRIST

Ricardo Antonio Garcia

Should I take down my mind

because you don’t understand my riddles?

Should I walk down the stairs

so that you may comprehend my thoughts?

The jealous Cat tore up the mouse

and ripped him out of his harboring nest:

is this how you want to understand?

The demurity of our minds

become vaccinated and their side affects

are the great Poets among us.

Generic gabbing of old Hens in their fury

wishing you dead

or that you would simply go away

are they themselves thirsty and stunted

for their creative Wells are dry

and their parching throats

scream in dangerous vanity unsuited for prose.

Should I remove myself from your view

for the simplistic and natural resources of you?

I don’t care that you think of me so

for I, have the power to simply let go, but I

am graced by your negative efforts

for in the dark Wells of your Soul I will pen.

Age perhaps has defiled you

and that your Wisdom has locks.

I have no anger towards your advances

but amused that you were stirred.

How else would a Poet perform again if not

and allow these subtle cries

to disjoint themselves

in the erection of these rhymes?

If a Poet inflames.

If a Poet defames.

If a Poet stirs a nation to go to War.

Shall your meager attempts to cloud or contain me

ever find a hope of doing so?

The Power of God is the Power of language

and God is my protector.

The cynical nails of Christ duplex my opinion of you.

This is why- I will fight you …
