Dad

Dad

I wait by the door, where are you Dad?
I miss you so much! it leaves me sad.
I want to be like you; please show me how!
Without your example, my direction changed now.

I think of your power, your awesome control!
Remembering you would discipline me, then console.
I know you love me! you would bring home a toy.
But now I'm a grown man, no longer a boy.

We've often been distant, adults can change that.
Let's go to the ball park, I recall where we sat!
Love and compassion is never a fad.
A quest and a journey to be like my Dad.

Jim a great homage and tribute to your dad and like all dads never forgotten but remain eternally in our hearts and memories the way, the way all departedĀ  and cherished loved ones should.
Thanks for sharing Jim and a great and respectful write.
