Daddy's Little Angel

I waited for you this morning,
You said you were coming back for me,
I cried and cried when I realized you lied,
How could you do that to me?...
I painted you a picture of us together,
To keep with you everywhere you go,
If you don't return to me soon,
There will be no picture to show.
I wait at the same steps each day,
Waiting to see your face,
Maybe something has slowed you down,
I hope you are soon to pick up your pace.
My smile is starting to fade away,
Why won't you return to me with open arms?,
I need you here to teach me right from wrong,
Protecting me from any harm.
You told me to never make a promise,
That I don't intend to keep,
I fear you broke that rule of life,
On the day you promised me.
I apologize if I was not good enough,
I apologize if I made you mad,
I have been waiting here for a few years now,
Just waiting for you Dad.
You always said I was your little angel,
Your number one girl in life,
I'm not so little anymore daddy,
Why couldn't you stay home that night?
I have found that life is hard,
Such a cold world full of risk,
Yet I will find all my rewards,
As this razor penetrates my wrist.
Sorry I could not wait any longer,
Believe me I really tried,
So I leave this note to be discovered upon your return,
Your little angel....has died.
