Dance (by the brook)

A mindfulness meditation

Dance (by the brook)

For a moment
I was going to just dance,
but then I knew:
my mind is out of phase
with the rhythm.

So, I put this word here,
this file over there,
all the sentences into
the stream (now almost
overflowing)

and watch them
slowly dissolve.

For want of words to write
I cup my hands into the brook
and sip some of its feelings
to evenly balance
another dance
now the waters are cleansed of
all things daily doings.

Slowly my head empties but
for the vision of the brook
on its way to join the other monks
in the ocean.

I am being murmured
into sleep,

finally.

Space as a start
for being

here…

Thank you, quiet of mind and soul is important in these times (the picture is somewhere in Ireland, taken back in the summer of 1998 by my wife who taught me to calm down and fits this poem like a glove accidentally πŸ˜‚)Β
