Dance She Will
Through A Perfect Storm
Lightning flashes throughout her dance
Leaving dreams of romance
As daylight fades
They will all sleep and fade into doubt
Having to live without...
Such magic in a dance
And she will dance
Even through a crying storm
But never losing form
How opulent becomes her way
As she moves with infinity
Always in motion
So strong in devotion
With pure fluid movement in dance
And I will rage
And rage in response
To apathy
Or any discord to her stance
Because she will dance
Even if night becomes murder with thunder
And no one will wonder
Why she still dances...
through a perfect storm

Beautiful! I saw her dancing on the page.
Favorite part:
How opulent becomes her way
As she moves with infinity
Always in motion
So strong in devotion
With pure fluid movement in dance
I liked how you used the word, opulent which is a word I needed to look up.
I would have liked to see more of her dancing.
Great line:
With pure fluid movement in dance
Now, if you could show her moving a particular body part, or making a move common in the particular dance she is doing, or to hear the music that she dances too.
Thank you for sharing your poem.
Happy Holidays from Ohio

Hello again,
I returned to re-rate your poem. It was early in my reviewing training here. I was star struck and didn't know how to rate a poem. I'm partial to one star for everyone. I returned to read your poem again and I'm so happy I did. It's a beautifully written poem all about dance, life and possible dreams. Many thanks for sharing it.
Cheers,
Kat
Thank you Katina. Yes I wrote it for the love of my culture. When I go to a powwow I just stand there amazed, watching the dancers in their beautiful regalia and in perfect sync with every drum beat. I feel proud and fortunate to be part of it. Thank you for your recognition and feedback, my friend. Bless you ❤️
Hello again,
I attended my first Pow Wow in Newark, a few years back. Although, I'm only a third Native American, I treasure the stories my mother taught me about the culture.
I was in, The Friends of The Mounds Group, in Newark, Ohio. Where the Hopewell Indian tribes built large mounds. The Newark Earthworks Site, has been nominated to become a Heritage Site.
I was at the court house standing next to, Barbra Crandall, as she paid a fine she received after attending the mounds for prayer. She paid the entire amount in Sacagawea coins.
