Dancing with the Devil
I danced with the Devil at the age of seventeen, and he danced with me to Hell 'n' back and places in between,
Now the Devil was no friend of mine and often did me wrong, introduced me to the needle and the Crack rock on the bong,
Introduced me to a twilight world where drugs were my affliction,I took a chance began the dance straight into drug addiction,
I danced with the Devil and we danced into the night, where everything around me now was coloured brown or white,
Now the Devil he was devious to dupe me was his goal,he wasn't going anywhere until he'd took my soul,
For a quarter of a centuryb the dance it did go on,now any hope of quitting it has well and truly gone,
So if he asks you for a dance pray heed the words I tell,or you'll be dancing with the Devil and he'll dance you straiht to hell.

Very powerful piece Julie-Ann, I like how (I think) you've portrayed this with a romantic tone, with the dance but actually it quite clearly represents a struggle and dark secrets. Really enjoyed this dramatic little poem, well done!
Good write, My 5*

This devil you definitely don't want to mess with Julie-Ann, and I loved your take on it. You created a wonderfully rhythmic and free flowing write, each line ran into the next effortlessly, almost lyrical! Great style, creative content, a write I will remember. The Devil route was defintely up my alley and you took us on the pathway to hell. Great job, faved and 5*s and nomination from me too:)
Great ring to it very moving I liked this piece a lot
