Danger Inside

Hidden deep inside her soul
Hidden from all but her
The monster inside
Creeps in the dark corner of her heart
Tells her secrets
Whispering to her mind
Cold chills run up her spine
Fingers brush her neck
A frozen breath, empty space
Sleeping in the dark
She listens for that metallic ring of laughter
That silent taunting laugh
That makes my insides crawl
Black and purple spots dot her body
Claw marks stretch across her skin
As her soul reaches that desolate place
No one else seems to know
The pain and fear coursing through her body
Her fear of being there but not truly here
Observing but not interacting
