Drop

Feel the wind kissing your cheek
Feel it brushing its hand through your hair
As you stare down a cliff, that leads to nowhere
I’m not sure but I believe it never ends
One foot in front of the other
An unseen force propelled me on
The edge slowly growing close
I could hear the wind whistling up from an invisible place
The sound that followed was like that of a scream
My toes hung over the edge and ever so slowly I leaned
Time seemed to stand still as I sailed down the Cliffside
I felt like I was flying but in a way that could only be described as free
The sun receded and darkness enveloped me in its cold embrace
All I could see was shadows far below
I wasn’t scared like I should have been but almost relieved
I knew there would be something to break my fall and me
I finally reached the bottom of the once bottomless cliff
Sitting up in my bed
I felt like I had just really been flattened on a bed of stone cold rocks
It was all a dream
