Dangerous Safe Place

Dangerous Safe Place

I am here

Here where times corrode at the margins of memory

Licorice threads of silicon silk slither off like vampire asps at daybreak

What was known now unkown

My tightrope remains like an earth

I tread its tripple cord invisible

Its magnetic pull locks me in

Locks us in

Like the shadow of a caravan upon shifting sands

We have no more baggage

The storms have left us bare

Gashes of tanned flesh become hieroglyphic memoirs

All we have is a load of water

To offer the watchers at the city gate

Wonderful imagery Al
I especially loved
“Licorice threads of silicon silk slither off like vampire asps at daybreak”
I could see snakes in the hot sand.  This whole piece really makes you feel the harsh heat of the desert. Great piece
