" DARE I, STRETCH THE TRUTH ..."

And when in late afternoon's light
Beneath a tree to swell a smile
In considering the God in things
Would it have been worth while
Politic, cautious, or meticulous
To stretch the truth
Through all their minds
That they may embrace God's good light
Like so many living things...
Perhaps when in evening's waning light
I have glimpsed the moment of my greatest flicker
I shall wear white, and testify
As darkness grows ever nearer
I have known the eyes with which to pierce the night
That God might be seen by the owls
Dare I, stretch the truth
Beneath the choir to stir the holy desire
That we ALL Love one another...
