Dark forest

Walking in the darkness in a lonely forest, I can hear the howling of the wind and the shadows that follow me. More than once I have tried to escape but I am chained to this place

From the shadows I try to hide but they always find me, and when they do I run until I cant any more but when I stop to rest I hear their screams as sharp as a knife which never leaves me alone

I would want to at least once see the light so that I would forget all darkness and misery and I would be happy, or I would want to have the bravery to confront those who come after me but I am too weak and I would perish if I do

I wish this was all a dream and when I woke it would all not be true but this is reality which I can not change

The spirits seem to smell fear which they feast on, I run until my lungs burst but one day they will catch me and they will destroy me without mercy and will satisfy the hunger that they have had all those years and all that will be left of me will be my soul wich wil fly away into heaven
