Darker Shades

Black and white fade into Grey

Darkness devours the light of day

Clouds of misery engulf the sky once blue

When i see the darker shades of you

A gloomy swell now pounds the peacful tide

a deluge of all the mournful tears ive cried

my blood red heart lay drained and torn in 2

A victim of the darker shades of you

the light ahead, i now cannot see

as these shadows overpower me

lost are the warm and gentle hues

all that remain are the darker shades of you

no rainbows arc, no pot of gold

no silver lining do these dark clouds hold

no sunshine and no skies of blue

all eclipsed by the darker shades of you..
