Daughter of Athena

Daughter of Athena

Oh daughter,
I see the time has come.
The stirring, the kindling of your soul.

It has always been there,
but now you see it too;
It signals the juncture.

From infancy I have watched and waited,
as you trained in the ways of the warrior.
How you were struck down,
and stood up taller.

Some days were harder than others,
and you chose to lay in the trenches.
You knew how long was needed,
that showed courage of a different sort.

You tested many tools and weapons,
some worked, some were useless in your hands.
Some had value for a time, then lost their potency,
Others will stay with you this life time.

Oh daughter,
I see the time has come.
The stirring, the kindling of your soul.

It has always been there,
but now you see it too;
It signals the juncture.

All those bitter experiences
brought you the knowledge,
good judgement and wisdom,
now blossoming in you.

Know that I am here,
Always watching, ever proud.
I cannot walk the path for you,
but I will always bring you back to it.

When you get knocked down,
I will be there as you pick yourself up.
When you choose to stay down,
I will lie with you.

Oh daughter, I see the time has come.
This knowledge and wisdom ,
is your gift to give.

The stirring, the kindling of your soul.
Urging you to share yourself with others.
It has always been there, but now you see it too!
