Age of innocence

You ask me if you may play,

With the greatest pleasure of course I say.

I watch you with unexplained heartfelt happiness,

A tear uncontrollably appears from my own emptiness.

I see you run with Joy, skipping and hopping,

The laughter and cheering brings pleasure.

I smile and take in this innocence,

And travel to the past,

My kin never excited to last.

My mind rushes back to today,

And reminds me, leave it, forget it all I say.

You are beautiful and full of love,

You love me unconditionally and all above.

I embrace you and share love with you,

All I know is that these are your memories for true.

My role to ensure they are good to last,

You grow up not to relive a sad tear from the past,

But remember your father and happiness on you he cast.
