Day and Night

Little wind you blow so tentatively
Trees react almost mysteriously
Their leaves moaning bewilderingly
Causing branches to sway diligently
Beckoning a change that plays so rhythmically
Dusk descends within this windswept arena
As time passes and concludes
The light dims
For we are in nights prelude
That space and time of darkness creeping upon us
That beckons the close of day
Birdsong melodiously serenades the senses
Then stops
Ball of fire is fleeing
An horizon afar calls
Lunar's time is soon to come
Brightness dims and quiet reigns
Peace it feels we may yet obtain
Solar has gone to warm cooler lands
Lunar the pearl of night
The shadows joyful companion
Raises her curtains and sets the stage
For sleep and dreams if you cant stay awake
The feel of night is upon us
A different crew is stirring
A world anew recurring
Feasters of night that hid in daylight
Wander about seeking fresh delights
The owl hoots its winsome pleasure
The chase is on to out do the previous crew
Gaia's bounty is split in two
Those that lunar guards from above
Scuttle about and do as they always do
Wind of change begin to blow as dawn appears
Sun and moon shall pass eternally
Chasing each other gracefully
Night fades to dawn and day
All on earth witness this daily play
