THE DAY I MET AN ANGEL

I remember the day, I first laid eyes on you

it was rainy, and cold for a summer day in June

the way you looked at me, seemed as if to say

I've been searching for a while for you

I remember your hand, was so warm to the touch

as you extended it to shake mine

and that smile, once presented did the darnest thing

the rain went away, and cleared the sky

my heart seemed to beat more defined than before

often times I swear I felt it skip once or twice

when you spoke, my ears heard the most heavenly sound

something spiritual and emotional to my surprise

yes that day was the first day that I could remember

everything before that a mere blur

I anticipate patiently for our next encounter

whenever that moment may occur.
