Poem -

dead things for a dead thing

how ruthless to kill them
what does it achieveย
these flowers I bring you
these flowers I leave
dead things for a dead thing
decay on decay
I cry for you all
for myself
walk away

Being Me

This poem got me thinking about a saying I once heard. " Life's a bitch โ€” and then you die." A rather pessimistic view, granted, but ultimately true. That is the reason religion was invented ( in my own opinion). Hugs, Marion xx

Hi love, I think religion was invented partly because of natural wonders and events...imagine seeing the Northern lights from a cave and apparently no understanding of the universe etc or terrifying thunder...hurricanes, tornados...all through history we have been obsessed with the sky especially the night sky. Its easy to think, even today, that the gods are angry in extreme weather events....and absolutely what you say. Without any thing to believe in we lose hope and purpose. On the other hand maybe we got dropped here or were visited by aliens in ancient times and fact, myth and religion all became interwovenย  over time. Who the fuck knows lol...๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž
PS...you know the other thing that troubles me? Well you know they say we were supposed to be an unique cosmic event or a one off created by God...well who the fuck created the dinasaurs, we were not the first life forms hereย  and as far as I know we did not evolve from dinosaurs so which god created them then? Blows the mind...answers on a post card to....๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

If there is a god (or godess) I think it is our planet. Perhaps our planet is the godess and the universe is the god. Just a hunch that I have ... I will give my reasons in a bit ...I just got to pop out for a bit x

Okay, so, like our mother, who has a molten iron core, we, too, have iron in our blood. Our mother has a lot of water ( oceans, seas, rivers, lakes etc) and so do our bodies. The universe sent the shooting stars to her that caused life to begin in those slimy soups. ( Could be interpreted asย  angels). We did not evolve from the dinosaurs but the birds did. Wasn't the T Rex an early chicken? Seriously, I read somewhere that scientists reckon it was. We evolved from small mamal like creatures. If anything needs worshippingย  it's our planet x

Agree with everything you say...my point is life is supposed to be a miracle of god...a one off...diansaurs dont fit into this theory at all... genesis clearly happened twice...or am I missing something? Therefore the fact that we evolved as we are, cannot be a divine act of any God can it ...we are not unique and special...life evolved twice but iย  different forms and that's only as far as we know...none of it fits to me, its like events have been warped to.fit a mould. Yes we came from the cosmos, the gasses of stars...everything did...where did God come from?? I could debate this stuff all day but I'm going to tidy garden lol...I'm reading a brilliant book at mo written by a preacher who had cause himself to find that the book of genesis did not make sense in terms of any one God..i was so happy to find a book that has the same questions that i do....Will get back to you...many hugs xx

Oh Marion, you put some excellentcthought forward! I don't believe the bible anyway; for the very reasons you cite amongst the other contradictions it has. God speaks to you directly and not from a "handbook." Also, if there is a god or gods (who is to say there's not more than one? Gods might be like mushrooms โ€” where theres one there's always more) If there is a god it is the same god( or gods) for all of us. It doesn't matter if you are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Buda - its the same god or gods worshipped, just in different ways. Same bell different whistles. Hugs xx

Religion was simply invented as a means of controlling. The dark ages were pretty dark and some structure was needed.ย
By creating a 'divine being' who funnily enough resembled 'man' ( if that wasn't a clue, I don't know what was!) and telling people that there were 10 commandments to live by, it created a template of behaviour that was acceptable and became 'lawful' in society. The church was a means of control but also support to those who were loyal to it.ย
I have always felt deeply that if women had been in charge, religion would not have come about.ย
It really suited the male dominant character and the subsequent abuses through the ages are testament to it's fallible nature and illogical nonsense. I've never believed in a God and we only found out we were Jewish long after my mother had passed away. She never even told us or bothered with any of it and I think our own moral code tells us pretty much what is okay to do and not okay.
