Dear Daddy

Dear Daddy

Dear Daddy,

I wish you would have been around to tell me it's not okay when he tells me to shut my mouth,
or that loving myself was more important than loving him,
or that love shouldn't feel like something you have to earn and that it's supposed to feel like home and,
I wish you would of been around to show me what home was supposed to feel like in the first place.
I wish you had been around, just to have been aroundโ€”
someone I can call like right now, when I'm feeling down.
His arms feel so strong, but I know when he holds me, it's really you that I'm still looking for.
I've always loved Peter Pan. There's a home for the lost boys, but what about the little girls that were lost like me?
