Dear Elizabeth

Like 0 Pin it 0Dear Elizabeth,
I wonder where you are and if you had a meal to eat,
if you are safe, andĀ if you have a pair of shoes for those bare feet.
I imagine how you use to walk miles for just a sip of water,
your little callused hands carrying buckets down a hill where no women waited for you, her daughter.Ā
I will never forget the first time I saw you,
with your blistered feet stumbling in to small plastic shoes,
a shirt so big it hung off your shoulder and a skirt made from a little piece of fabric,
which was filled with dirt tied around her little waste with a rubber band elastic.Ā
but in the midst of all thoseĀ tragic views IĀ saw the biggest smile spread across your four year old face,
and I took you into my arms into my embrace,
you held me so tight IĀ could feel your desperation,
and how you were never looked after and the pain of your starvation.
it kills me to think you are all on your own, a four year old child,
fending in the streets, how do you mange to keep that smile.
You will always be in my loving heart,
and no matter what no one could take that apart.
I hope you grow up to find,
that undeniable joy you consume is someday going to change mankind.
Love Always and Forever.Ā
Mikhaela TrojekĀ
