Poem -

Dear Freeman

(HOOK)Young and sweet, sweet innocent soul.
Dark as coal, with a heart of Gold.
This world was never meant  for you.
Because its sight has never brought upon you the right heartbeat.
(Hahaha)
They called you "The cigarette filter" because of your shortness.
But they never knew that your abilities were endless.
They never knew that you were that dynamite that came in a small package.
I know now, that you never belonged to your own age.

(VERSE ONE)

Now you have turned me into a demon and they're exorcising that.
They're forcing me to church not knowing that they are boiling us.
Your struggles, the tears and heartbreaks have made me this reporter.
Because nobody was there when they were learning on you how to be monstrous.

I got these scars from you, when those three guys from the 7th grade punched you, slapped you, kicked you around like a soccer ball.
Your mother never liked the idea of reporting the matter to the school principal and that's the truth.
Another truth is that I just stood there and watched.
I'm older than those guys and I could've faught them off to save you.

It is hard for me to forgive and forget everything that was done to you buddy.
The chronic hidings from your big brother that always left you with marks are torturous. Nobody knows but I can't sleep from those nightmares sonny.
The rest of the family just thinks your brother is putting you to order, they don't even ask or care in the first place why you  went off that.

I know why you're a rebellion, the black sheep of the family.
My heart is dished in a bowl of black blood when I think about it.
My mind is made by manipulative hatred but you just let it go.
You never did anything about it and I'm supposed to take that along.

(VERSE TWO)

My eyes are sight full because of the colours of anger.
My ears are sound filled because of whispers of vengeance.
My hands are stronger from the touch of danger.
My feet are faster from the walk of  darkness.

I'm a bad son because of you.
If you had killed the perpetrators would I have cried till my tears ran dry?
If you had forced yourself under your mother's protection would I have had so many attempts to die?
I blame no one else but you Freeman, you!

I look at your pictures ad realise how much you've changed me.
I could've been sweet like you really.
If you didn't let them lock you indoors even during local soccer games.
I would've been tame and less of a loner if you didn't let them stay away from all of your friends claiming that they were not good for you.

You see, I knew your friends, and they were nice people.
You talked about the future instead of the drugs that your brother kept insisting you were using.
I know you hung around druggies and they told you not to smoke.
You hung around alcoholics and they told you not to drink.

Your brother thought otherwise.
Well I am smoking and drinking, and they said that they always knew that it was going to happen apparently.
You see they don't know that you never did those things.
I'm the one who's doing them to fulfil that prophesy they had about you kid.

(VERSE THREE)

Hey Freeman, I'm a writer now, and I'm going to tell them about your story.
I'm not afraid anymore, for the both of us, I'm going to hold this glory.
I'll be most authentic, I'll draft with no fear or favour.
I wish you could see me now, when no one can hurt me no more.

And I sit in the same group in class as other boys now and I must say it sucks to sit in the back seat.
So don't worry about the time you used to sit with girls only in the front seat to avoid bullism.
You remember the walking ring that you never liked?
Well I hate it too, I like to walk on my feet so we're the same alright?

I heard you pissed a lot of people when you cried until mom got home.
I also heard you'd cry harder after a while when you realised that she wasn't going to pay her attention to you.
Some say that you never laughed even when you were titled.
You just looked at them with your big eyes and wondered what they were doing.

By the way one of those three boys that beat you with no mercy.
One of them is dead (not me relax) but I'm relieved, so be it if you think I'm a bad person.
That girl that used to steal your lunch box and threaten to beat you, she tried to be mean last week and I told her I'll cut both her left thumbs and serve them do my dog, his name is stone.
I have a court order for my brother so he can't touch me now, my mother hates me for it also we're not close.

(VERSE FOUR)

I am learning to forgive, but I can't promise to forget what you went through.
There's no care left inside of me, and I'm avoiding violence too.
I know you stopped drawing knives on your body but I'm still writing scary poems.
(Hahaha)
My mother saw this one hanged on my bedroom wall says "Hate keeps me alive"
She thinks I'm possessed by evil spirits.

Your girlfriend got pregnant, the child is not yours although she claimed it was, DNA suggested otherwise.
I got a friend now, we're very close.
He doesn't want to see me get hurt and he's a body builder, what do you think should I stick with him?
Oh and there's this girl that I like,

It's been a while since I liked anyone that much. I've met her three times now but she says she grew up in our community and she's also seen you.
It feels like just how you described it when you fell in love with your ex girlfriend.
I hope she stays man.
I really hope God let's her see through my eyes.

I got to go now but thank you for dying with that heart desease,
I've stopped that agonising pain and that continous falling to the ground.
I probably wouldn't even be able to work on your stories now.
From the only one that will never hurt you, signed, Freeman.
