Dear Puppet

Dear Puppet

And there she rested her headĀ on the cold concrete step. Her puppeteer walked away leaving her to believe she was still nothing more than a puppet.

There she lay
Wasting away
Waiting for his strength to force her up onto her feet
Forever believing that she did not have
Strength of her own.

Dear puppet. Don't you know? You have legs that walk and arms that wave and a heart that beats for itself. Cut off your strings and rise. He has put you behind him but that does not mean you are worthless. It simply means that he is searching for someone else to tie his ego onto.
